Jenny Slaughter

Senior Front-End Designer & Developer

Roanoke, VA

Jenny thrives in the place where design and development intersect. While she spent the last few years specializing in design systems and front end pattern libraries, Jenny started her career as a general graphic designer and full-stack web developer. She’s obsessed with crafting flexible, functional systems using a limited set of well-engineered parts. Jenny’s built pattern libraries and websites for dozens of large organizations and universities, including the Emory School of Medicine, Texas A&M, and the Wellcome Sanger Institute.

Always eager to share her organization-obsession with others, Jenny often speaks publicly about front end pattern library development. She enjoys sharing strategies for pattern-oriented design and development, and has given several conference talks, workshops, and presentations related to designing and building pattern libraries.

When her laptop is closed, Jenny enjoys making things, throwing parties, learning to sail, and going on adventures with her daughter in the Virginia mountains.
